From spare parts to life-size figures.

I scan, design and 3D-print parts using FDM and SLA – functional, dimensionally accurate and fully painted on request. Based in Simmozheim near Stuttgart.

Services

Scan, design, print, finish.

Whether it’s a single spare part, a prototype or a large showpiece: I take care of the whole journey, or just the step you’re missing.

FDM & SLA 3D printing

Tough functional parts in filament, fine detail and smooth surfaces in resin. Large objects are printed in segments and joined accurately.

  • Prototypes and one-offs
  • Small batches
  • Large format in segments

3D scanning & reverse engineering

No spare part, no drawing? I scan the original, scale the scan to size and rebuild the part as a clean CAD model – even if it’s broken.

  • Photogrammetry scanning
  • Scaled from measured reference dimensions
  • Replacements for discontinued parts

CAD design

From sketch, photo or scan to a print-ready model – with the right wall thickness, tolerances and joints such as magnets, screws or clips.

  • Designed for printing
  • Brackets, jigs and templates
  • Delivered as STEP or STL

Post-processing & finishing

Filling, sanding, priming and painting – right through to metallic and weathering effects. Where parts need to take more, I reinforce them with glass-fibre mat.

  • Paint and effects
  • Glass-fibre reinforcement
  • Bonding and assembly
Process

How a project works.

From the first message to handover you deal with the same person. That keeps decisions quick and changes easy.

  1. Enquiry

Photos, a sketch, a file (STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF) or the original part – plus a short note on what it’s for.

  2. Advice & quote

I recommend a process and material and give you a price and a date before anything is printed.

  3. Prototype

If needed, a first part to test, fit or try on. If something isn’t right yet, I change the model.

  4. Production & finish

The finished part – post-processed, painted or reinforced on request.

  5. Handover

Collect it in person in Simmozheim or have it shipped – with the CAD files if you want them.

Materials

The right material for your application.

Not sure what fits? Tell me where and how the part will be used – I’ll advise you.

PLA
Stiff and holds fine detail well – ideal for models, props and prototypes.
PETG
Tough and impact-resistant – for functional parts, brackets and housings.
TPU
Flexible and rubber-like – for dampers, bumpers, grips and protective parts.
PP-CF / PP-GF
Polypropylene with carbon or glass fibre – light, stiff and chemical-resistant for technical parts.
SLA resin
Extremely fine detail and smooth surfaces – for engravings, delicate pieces and precision parts.

About

Who’s behind Strakt.

I’m Mechi. I’ve been printing with filament and resin since 2017, in small and large formats. The results include everyday functional parts, technical spare parts, costumes, props and even a life-size figure.

I know which material suits which job, how to design parts for printing – and how to turn a raw print into a finished component. If a part is too complex to measure by hand, I scan it; if there’s no file, I design one.

Why Strakt? In German car design, “Strak” is the word for a perfectly faired, flowing surface – no dents, no steps. That’s the standard I hold every part to: layer by layer, until it’s right.

FAQ

Good to know.

What files do you need?

STL, STEP, OBJ or 3MF files are ideal. No file? Photos with a few measurements, a sketch or the original part are often enough – then I design or scan it.

What does a part cost?

That depends on size, material, quantity and finishing. Send me your enquiry and you’ll get a free quote first – with no obligation.

How fast can you deliver?

That depends on size, process and finishing. I’ll give you a realistic date with the quote – if you have a fixed deadline, mention it in your enquiry.

How large can parts be?

Objects larger than the build volume are printed in segments and joined by gluing or magnets – up to a life-size figure.

Can you replicate a broken part?

Yes – the engine-bay fan shroud is one example. I scan the part, rebuild missing or broken areas in CAD and print it again in a suitable material – reinforced on request.

Do you work for private customers too?

Yes. I work for businesses and private individuals alike – from a single spare part to a fully painted showpiece.

Got a project in mind?

Need a part you can’t simply buy?

Send me photos, a sketch or a file. You’ll get an honest assessment and a free quote – no obligation.
